Dreamers Competition WINNER: Alistair Grant
This was to get the creative juices flowing! We asked for a small 100 word response to “where will you head next.” This was perfect timing as COVID-19 restrictions had just allowed camping again and had everyone thinking about their next best holiday trip they could plan. We had some detailed entries as well as some poetic responses. The winner Alistair Grant has a fantastic response as he planned to head to Wilsons Promontory.
"Nothing compares with the feeling of rounding the final bend and hearing the roaring of the surf. As you dump your pack, your weariness vanishes and you bounce down the white sands into the chill of the Southern Ocean. When the initial surge of adrenaline fades and the chill kicks in, you retreat back up into pristine bushland and revel in the simplicity of your portable stove and tent. Little Waterloo Bay is one of nature’s marvels, remote, hard to access but stunningly beautiful. Wilson’s Promontory will be the place where I refresh my soul again."
Camp Cookout Recipe Competition WINNER: Howard Heng
Camp cookout had an amazing response with a wide range of entries of different foods and flavours. With the only rules to be an awesome camping cookout. The winning dish was Howard’s Chicken Yakitori! And as part of the rules we were to cook the winning dish as well! Check out the video below!
With some incredible cookouts of the classics all the way to the crazy deserts and massive cook ups, we decided to give two runners up prizes to Nickolay Wunderlick for the classic damper cooking and to Phillip Kotze for an amazing cook up!
Creative Camping Photography competition WINNER: Petersen Family
This was a free competition to enter to keep everyone busy during these heavy times. The concept was “creative Camping” getting the whole family involved to build their own camping experience in the comfort of their own home! We had an overwhelming response and the Petersen family had an awesome camping weekend cooking damper in the Hi Country cast iron oven and staying in the outdoors with a backyard fire!
Due to such an amazing amount of entries we also awarded 5 runners up prizes for some very creative set ups! Thank you to everyone who entered!
Best Camping Photography competition WINNER: Shane Munroe
This was a free competition to enter where anyone could send in their best camping shots! We were looking for the best set ups of tents, swags, caravans, shelters also 4WD, cooking, adventure and other activities you do when camping! We received some amazing photographs that may be shared on our Facebook or even used in promotional materials! Thank you to everyone who entered and happy camping!
Bushfire Donation Relief Raffle WINNER: MARIO LAZARO
When the devastating bush fires hit our beautiful country we knew we had to help! Aussie Disposals offered our staff, members and customers the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets. Each raffle ticket was worth $2 each and we had an overwhelming response! Not only could you donate to the Buy A Bale bush fire relief fund but you also went in the draw to win a shopping spree of $1,000!
