Gumboots
Keep your feet warm and dry with a pair of quality gumboots. These make good camping shoes for areas where you expect to encounter insects that bite, slippery surfaces that require extra grip, and water that you have to cross. We stock low, mid and high cut varieties for you to choose from.
Sandals & Water Shoes
Our sandals and water shoes are perfect for people who want more lightweight camp shoes that don’t interfere with mobility. Our range includes aqua socks for kids and adults that support water drainage while keeping dangers at bay, sandals that are flexible and versatile, waterproof booted chest waders for river fisherman, and more.
Snow Boots
Snowy conditions require extra padding and protection to keep your feet warm. Fortunately, we can provide wool snow boots that are perfect for indoor and outdoor use. Your toes will feel nice and toasty when wearing a pair of these cosy and comfortable boots, especially when you’re travelling through subzero temperatures.

Frequently Asked Questions
Water shoes are a type of camping footwear suitable for activities where feet are likely to get wet, such as kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling and swimming. Most water camping shoes are made from mesh and feature hard soles, protecting wearers from cuts and abrasions in wet and rocky environments. They also feature holes that allow for quicker water drainage and drying.
What are gumboots made of?
Gumboots in Australia are made from natural rubber or synthetic materials, providing wearers with the best thermal protection from cold and wet conditions. Gumboots can also provide superior grip on icy surfaces, reducing the risk of falls and related injuries. We also stock BOGS gumboots that contain a heavy duty neoprene body that provides superior waterproofing, moisture wicking, warmth and comfort.
Where does the name gumboot originate from?
Gumboots were originally called Wellington boots in honour of Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington who invented and popularised them. The nickname ‘gumboots’ was derived from the gum rubber that the boots have been made from since 1852.
There are various methods you can use to dry gumboots and snow boots. One popular and effective method involves stuffing the boots with newspaper and placing them upside down in a warm place, changing out the newspaper every 24 hours until dry. You can also use a non-heated fan, attaching your boots to the fan with a wire and placing a towel below the shoes to soak up any water droplets. If possible, leave the fan running overnight to speed up the process.
Sandals are great camping shoes for summer, offering maximum comfort and breathability when the temperature heats up. Ideally, sandals should fit snugly and offer ample support, but without leaving red marks or making your ankles feel constricted. If sandals shape your feet in an unnatural way or cause physical pain and discomfort, they will need to be adjusted or replaced with a better fitting pair.
