Our Story

Aussie Disposals is a 100% Australian owned family business founded in 1962 by Bill Purvis with the support of his brother George with its first store in located in Moe Victoria! We are camping enthusiasts who love the outdoors and hope to provide customers with our own knowledge and experience. We have grown to 23 stores across Vic, SA and NSW and with 13 of those stores as franchises. We provide quality camping and outdoor equipment to allowing you to get away into our amazing Aussie outdoors for a great price!

Direction And Position

Aussie Disposals has worked hard to be the largest army surplus retail chain in the Southern Hemisphere. We pride ourselves on being different and it starts with the unique camouflage design on our shop fronts. We offer a full range of both summer and winter products. From ski gear, jumpers, jackets, work and hike boots, socks, thermal underwear and rain wear in the winter, to hats, beach shelters, fishing gear and 4 X 4 equipment in the summer. There is also the all year round products we sell, which include our extensive range of tents & swags, workwear, sleeping bags, packs, travel gear and general camping gear. Exclusive to Aussie Disposals are a number of registered trademarks and designs including Wild River, Blizzard, Hi-Country and Trail. Finally, our unique range of Army Surplus gear serves as being the largest and most fascinating range available in Australia.

We travel extensively throughout the world sourcing and developing new and exciting products to complement our extensive range of Australian made products. We pride ourselves in being a “hands on” operation with the directors and executives participating in a wide range of outdoor activities which include taking teams skiing/snowboarding, fishing, hiking and camping.
